We are excited to announce the inaugural Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation Memorial Day, taking place this August Bank Holiday weekend at Hazelwood, the Home of London Irish in Sunbury-upon-Thames, Surrey.
An invitational men’s and women’s team representing the Foundation will each take on a team representing England Police, recognising Matt’s nearly 30 years working with the Metropolitan Police before his death, and the Foundation’s close ties with the Police.
The day will be a celebration, through rugby, of the values so important to Matt: community, inclusivity and inspiration.
Tickets will be available soon, at £10 for adults and £5 for children – more details will be announced here.
We are honoured to have two exciting teams turning out for the Foundation, starring East Grinstead RFC and Croydon RFC players, veterans and young players from clubs associated with Matt and more than a few names you will recognise from their international days – legends and locals!
Watch this space where we will announce our teams…
A big thank you goes to London Irish for hosting the event at the Hazelwood Centre, an incredible location just five minutes from J1 of the M3 and less than a mile from Sunbury rail station, with direct trains to and from central London.
