Kia mārō mā Matiu is our ongoing charity walking project which aims to link the key places where Matt was respected and loved, bringing together the communities of which he remains an influential part. Originally a fundraiser from Worthing to London Irish, we decided following its amazing success and reach to make it an ongoing appeal, fundraiser and event.
If you're interested in finding out more or interested in hosting or partaking in a Kia mārō mā Matiu Walk of your own, please contact tom@mattratanarugby.foundation to see how you can get involved!

We think it’s important to do justice to Matt’s native tongue. Hence our annual walk’s name...
We consulted an eminent Māori linguist who confirmed the preferred translation of what the walk, and indeed the Foundation, stands for:
Kia mārō mā Matiu - "Keep on being determined and resolute in the way Matt was"
